Trevor & Simon - ''Hands Up''
(Monday May 15, 2000 6:25 PM
)
Released on 29/05/2000
Label: Substance
Trevor and Simon give it the thumbs up with this havin' it tune, the first release on Substance, the Ministry of Sound's brand spanking new label devoted to releases intended to cross over from club land to the mainstream. Trevor has been a reputation for being the 'Pete Tong of Scotland' for his Beat 106 radio shows, and has re-mixed a clutch of dance hits including ATB's 'Killer'. And it looks like they've got the formula right on 'Hands Up' - a manic romp that samples the Black & White Brothers' 'Put Your Hands In The Air' over a DJ Jean-style hooky riff. In fact Jean turns in a hot remix as do top Trade DJs Fergie & BK. This is a killer on the dance floor but has enough oomph behind it to be picked up on radio a la Fragma and Flickman.
