The first of a series of remixes of last year's 'Charged' album by Bill Laswell, Eraldo Bernocchi and Toshinori Kondo, this is the drum and bass instalment.

Source Direct weave the original's trumpet solos in amongst their typically sparse beats. The Usual Suspects, however, rip the original apart and reconfigure it to much greater effect. Lush electronics reminiscent of Underground Resistance's classic 'Hi-Tek Jazz' and subtle, stealthy beats are joined by some irresistably funky modulations. Subtle and devastatingly effective drum 'n' bass.

With future mixes from Pole and Carl Craig, amongst others, this series is well worth looking out for.
