Hexdragon, despite their mountain clan title, rise from an urban hip hop, soul infused London background and lace their debut with On U-sound, Bristol dub (Nellee Hooper's involved, natch), 2 step, dark samples and raw edged funk.
Their contemporary take on Dillinger's Seventies hit, 'Cocaine', is as funky as you like it, while other tracks so far given an airing match soulful slickness with off-beat, quirky raw edges. What's more, they've got something to say.
