If media speculation is to believed the four members of Britain's favourite dance rock terrorists the Prodigy have been spending their time and considerable royalty cheques in the wake of 1997's 'Fat Of The Land' album, indulging their passions for motor bike racing, porn and children's TV presenters. Not so Maxim Reality it would seem, however, who, on the basis of this second offering from his forthcoming album, has been channelling his energies in an altogether more creative direction. The cover of the CD, in all its Alice Cooper style goth rock glory, certainly provides a clue as to what is contained within. As well as utilising the talents of Skin from Skunk Anansie, whose voice, incidentally, sounds fantastic on this welcome sabbatical from the increasingly predictable corporate rock of her own band, Maxim also includes heavy sampled guitars and a deep breathing gothic horror rap. If Tim Burton were ever to take a foray into producing dance records they would probably sound something like this.
