This is the first single release from genre-bender Hefner's debut album, Residue.

'Dive Into You' features the vocals of Bristol based Josee and will no doubt find an audience amongst the Jazzanova massive and Moon Safari fellow travellers. But the stand-out track here is 'Balance'.

An orchestrated piece that stands on a meaty space bass slab of funk and nicely syncopated drum loops, it doesn't go anywhere because it doesn't need to. But Hefner keeps it chilled and funky, using keyboard and strings to lock down the chaos.

The sound of that's how it was.
