If the label that brought us the oddly excellent Viktor Duplaix are back with some more deep electronica then you know you need to pay attention. Kicking off with Van Delta's 'Wood', however, isn't immediately promising.
When the amusingly named 'D.Diggler' gets his hands on it things get altogether more exciting. He/she takes the mundane original and works it over in a virtual pastiche of Basic Channel, injecting a more 'club friendly' deep, funky house element to the proceedings than your average Maurizio production.
Pole-style static crackles merge with the percussion as low synth thrusts pound away and electro dub gets funked up very nicely indeed, thank you very much.
And that's not it, 'Latitude' on the flip is another beautifully precise exercise in detailed percussion and fearsome sub-bass. Grab a copy quick and see if it takes you down with it.
