A hard hitting twelve this, but with some thought applied too. The main cut, 'Boomer', carries a lengthy drum and synth intro before a sampled vocal ushers in a b-line and scattered sounds that hint at imminent floor destruction. Sure enough, the whole cut recedes to leave just the vocal, then silence.
A few moments later, the whole lot comes crashing back in a heady rush of frantic drums, warped bass with some nasty but restrained FX and faint old skool horns bringing up the rear. On the other side, 'Channel Zero' is less rugged fare.
The drums are more skeletal, making room for a creeping ambience that leads into a sinister freak show of eerie vocals, buzzing bass and syncopated beatwork. Two good tracks from two promising producers.
