Paul Martin and Tyrrell's Interfearence have specialised in producing tracks on an epic scale, arranging their tunes in symphonic three part structures, moving mood and beats within the same piece.
As undeniably good as this work has been, it naturally presented a challenge to DJs who may have wanted to utilise one section of a track, but not the others.
Here they abandon the formulae and rip up the rule book, instead focusing on a heavy afro Latin work out. Of course there are drops and builds, but the theme throughout is storming carnival.
It's a field that everyone from old hand bag to hard house producers is ploughing these days, but Interfearence do it with more attack and more style.
The A-side is devoted entirely to carnival effect, while over on the flip the party evolves from the dead beats of the kick drum before erupting into Latin fuelled groove and rebuilding then Bossa vibe.
By now the beats here are too familiar to interfere with anyone's head set, but this is intelligent and dance floor friendly enough to cross from bijou bars to main floor partying.
Their best work to date? Very possibly.
