Label: V Recordings
The rhythmic vibes of Brazil were always going to be complimentary to the complex drum patterns of programmed d & b, and here the relationship is tried and tested by authentic Sao Paulo beat makers. On platter one is XRS Land with his bossa infused 'Secrets Of The Floating Island' that utilizes sweeping strings and insouciant flute to mesmerizing effect. On the flip, DJ Marky turns in a nicely rolling instrumental remix of soul supreme Max De Castro's 'Samba Raro'. On the other disc, Patife steps up with two vocal flexes; the first is a remix of De Castro's 'Pra Voce Lembrar' (better known amongst headz as 'Carnaval'), while the second is a reworking of Fernanda Porto's 'Sambassim'. An eminently soulful and gorgeous four tracker.
