Driving, infectious and punchy groove from the OCS boys, to herald the coming of their new album 'Mechanical Wonder'.
Laced with one of Steve Cradock's hugely irresistible trademark guitar riffs and sporting one of those beery, singalong, anthemic choruses that the Scene do so well, 'Up On The Downside' is one meaty mutha of a track, despite what other snorting, derisive, reviewers tell you as they pen sentences sprinkled with words like retro, The Who, Weller, The Small Faces etc etc etc.
Extra tracks are the slow, sublimely beautiful country-rock acoustic strummalong 'These Are The Days' with dripping guitar and Simon Fowler's incredible plaintive soul tones very much to the fore and 'Take You Back' a sad Hammond oozing ballad (organ courtesy of Mick 'Monkey' Talbot).
Many will hate this obviously. But thankfully there are many of us who know better.
