Think back to 1987, when the attitude was f*** genres, anything goes. That was when these Balearic butchers married industrial strength beats to a big ass bassline and shouted a lot over the top of it.
The resulting classic has been given a hyperactive workout by Germany's Thomas P. Heckmann, whose 'Amphetamine' also wrecked it's way around Europe's dancefloors about that time.
The beats still pack a punch, but the vocoded effect on the vocal takes the edge off the anger that made the original track so powerful. It's been given a new lease of life, and enters this era kicking, if not screaming.
The legendary Derrick May originally remixed 'Shame' in 1989, but it was never commercially available until now. It's a tough, minimal workout, yet full of energy and passion.
Remixing classics is always challenging, and the results here are more than worthy alternatives to the superb originals.
