In the past, U2 live shows have been big budget blockbusters in all but name and finally they've got their chance to star in one of their own. Well, nearly. Taken from Tomb Raider, 'Elevation' finds Lara Croft and The Edge runing a mock against the baddies while Bono and the boys dodge flying cars and marvel at the jaw-dropping special effects in one of the year's most elaborate videos (it's available as a DVD single). The video's so good you nearly forget about the song which isn't half bad either. In terms of musical reinvention U2 could redesign the wheel and we'd all applaud. While 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' didn't stoke everyone's fire, it has shown that Ireland's finest can still write great singles. 'Beautiful Day' and 'Stuck In A Moment...' can proudly stand alongside their greatest hits and 'Elevation' is in the same mould. Classic U2 (bar some dodgy rhyming couplets). Elevating indeed.
