There was a time when even the possibility of there ever being a new New Order single was a serious outside bet.
Ironically, considering the less than flooring last album - 'Republic', released some eight years ago - that wouldn't have been such a tragedy for a bunch of heroes already indelibly carved into the lineage of rock and roll and dance culture legend.
However, they've made it back, and there's some considerably glorious form going on on this and the tremendous forthcoming long-player 'Get Ready'.
As with much of the album, 'Crystal' is a fast-action dispatch of fiery, thrashing guitars, devastating, crunching rhythms, incisive then insipid lyrics and Peter Hook's trademarked bulbous, melodic bass.
Amazingly, there is better material than this to come.
