The latest single to be taken from 'Simple Things', 'In the Waiting Line' is one of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker's Mercury nominated album highlights.
Gliding in on velvet keyboards and gently bubbling synth lines, it couldn't be more 'Moon Safari' if it was written by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel. Even Sophie Barker's subtle vocals are reminiscent of Beth Hirsch.
Re-mix duty is ably led by Richard Dorfmeister, who strips it back to a funky bass line, loops in a bouncy break beat and intermittently stabs the vocal track as if it was a horn section.
Naked Music's Aquanote turns in a breathy, sensuous deep house version that makes full use of the rotund keyboards and pans the remainder of the effects into a whirlpool of cross fades.
Finally the Diaspora mix throws in crisp downbeat hip-hop snare patterns and strips the vocal out for an ambient, DJ Cam style dope track.
Seven out of seven.
