Crafted by New York based producer Markus Moser and 21-year-old singer Nadia, iio's 'Rapture' is on the way to becoming the dance anthem of 2001 and, as I write this review, is jostling for the number 1 position in the UK charts.
A funky pop house tune with catchy vocals, its cross over potential is obvious.
In it original form it begins with a catchy vocal hook which (like Crystal Waters 'Gypsey Women') owes more to it's unspoken la, la, la than the words being sung. Building through a disco bass line and hand claps, it goes on to take a progressive edge through breezy keybords.
The remixes spectacularly miss the catchy hooks of the songs vocal. Creamer & Stephanie turn up the progressive elements and turn out a long playing, minimal slow burner, while Riva give it the full on hands in the air accelerator kick. None of which does the track any favours.
