Damage - 'After The Love Has Gone'
(Monday November 19, 2001 12:13 PM )

Released on 26/11/2001
Label: EMI

An average cover of an average track best sums up Damage's rendition of this Earth, Wind and Fire 'classic'. The boys dispense with their funky pop/R&B hybrid for the fifth and final cut from their latest album resorting instead to some good, old-fashioned boyband crooning.

They'd be better advised to stick with the slightly harder sound that sets them apart from the Westlifes and NSyncs of this world. This becomes only too apparent upon sampling the funked-up 'Mushtaq' mix, which finds Damage on excellent form.

Eminently commercial but far more streetwise than your average boyband, this is the type of sound that the band should stick to.
