Jim Morrison and Will Young. It's comical to even mention them in the same sentence. It's pretty hard to imagine two more contrasting figures in the world of music, with the possible exception of Ozzy Osbourne and Charlotte Church.
While one made his name writing the rulebook around the pillars of sex, drugs and rock n'roll, the other won a TV talent show and wants to drink tea with the Queen. I know which one will still be remembered in years to come.
Let's just be thankful Jim's not around to hear this. Even the tackiest karaoke nut would have the decency and respect to leave it well alone.
Mr. Charisma hasn't put a foot wrong so far but if he carries on at this alarmingly tasteless rate, the alleged musical 'phenomenon' will be but a distant memory by the time his album arrives.
This will fail to light anyone's fire.
