The second single to be taken form the Funky Lowlives acclaimed debut album 'Cartouche', 'Irreplaceable' in its original version is a breezy, sun filled Latin/ Balearic track.
It ripples with snare fills that give Claire Szembek's innate lyrical pop sensibilities a deeper layer of interest.
On the remix front Will Holland, aka Quantic, rolls on reigned-in waiting to happen broken beats. In so doing he drags back the original's lush production to reveal the core, while bringing forward a bruising sub bass line.
Matt Liste, aka DJ L and Aphratec of the long running Perverted Science crew, gives things a vaguely electro twist that should see it sneak into a few indietronica sets, although his mix is essentially a new funk testimony - including an homage to Stevie W's keyboards.
If not irreplaceable, then certainly very desirable.
