This is a mixed package of remixes but where it works, it works well.
It starts full of promise, as The Film take the not obviously brilliant original 'Morte Nuit' and give it a cliche punk, glam-rock re-work.
This sees a hip nudging drum track being driven along by bass and guitar and, being simple, quirky and original, it's everything that you want from a production of its sort.
Chloe gives the track a more austere, lo fi, dirty house re-work that's full of post punk funk angst. It manages to be at once minimal while still being as chunky as a Jean Jaques Brunel bass line.
All of which makes the jangly guitar of the original, which finally arrives on the b-side sound a bit insipid, if not superfluous to this package.
Finally Frederic Sanchez has a go at remixing 'Les Ames Passent', a disjointed affair that sounds like it was recorded next door.
One sided excellence and certainly worth tracking down.
